Removes a Full 99.97% Of All Suspended Air Particles
This unit incorporates 2-stage HEPASilent technology that has been proven to remove a full 99.97% of all suspended air particles as small as 0.1 micron. This would include dust mites, mold spores, pet dander and allergic reaction inducing plant pollen particles.
Two Stage System Uses Filters and Ionic Charge
Even so, some finer particles can be missed by by a hepafilter alone and this is where the electrostatic charge is employed in the system. Microscopic particles are passed through an ion chamber, to receive a very slight actual electro-static charge. This results in them being actually attracted to the filter.
Whats So Different About this System?
It’s a common method that’s used in a lot of air filters out there on the market, with one very notable difference here. That is that other systems take the easy way out by simply giving their filter a charge to attract particles. The problem there is just like batteries, the filters gradually lose their charge.
Polypropylene Plastic Filters Shed No Gas or Fibers
Still one more difference worth noting, is that the actual air filter in this case contains literally millions of polypropylene micro-fibers. This unique plastic is known to be the safest, most non toxic and overall environmentally friendly of all common plastics used in manufacturing. This plastic filter does not produce gas or shed fibers into the air.
Plastic Filters Resists Mold, Fungus, Bacteria and Viruses
One more positive attribute of polypropylene, is that because it is water proof it’s highly resistant to contamination from mold, fungus, viruses and bacteria. Hence; it contains no chemical additives and once discarded, these filters easily break down into simple carbon dioxide and water. These are safe filters that you can feel good about using.

If you’re concerned about sound then you should be interested in knowing that the Blueair 402 Air Purifier on its lowest setting produces about the same amount of noise as your average desktop computer. An amount that’s really too negligible to hear unless you have your ear right up next to it.
Costs Only Pennies a Day To Run
Surprisingly, all this is done with minimal energy usage. In fact on its lowest setting, this air scrubbing work horse uses about the same amount of energy as a 20 watt light bulb. Switch it to its highest setting and it’s now using about the same amount of power as an 80 watt light bulb. Pennies a day.
